For the second year in a row Best Buddies Nevada is hosting an all-day spring festival at Town Square Las Vegas, newly christened as Flash Mobs for Friendship. The March 10 event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m and feature live entertainment, games, a scavenger hunt, a silent auction, and most notably, Las Vegas' biggest flash mob at 3:45 p.m. In the months preceding the event, "flash mobsters" will upload videos of their performances to the Best Buddies Nevada YouTube page, where they can win prizes based on the number of "thumbs up." The rival mobs will then perform again at the March 10 festival as well as part of one gigantic mob scene. As our participants disperse throughout Town Square on March 10, their seemingly random actions (dancing, hopping, waving, etc.) will be sure to draw the attention of curious onlookers throughout Town Square. Their performances will serve as an engaging and entertaining vehicle to spread our message of inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
